SACSNA is a student ran Student Nurses Association at Santa Ana College. It is a social networking group to bring forth support and education to other students, both in the Nursing Program and those waiting to enter the Program.
There are monthly meetings with guest speakers, as well as community events to participate in.
Please consider becoming a part of SACSNA whether you are Nursing or
Pre-Nursing. We are always looking for enthusiastic students who would like to be an active Board of Directors member or SACSNA Officer. See the information below if you are interested.

Here is a great opportunity to become active in SACSNA and show your leadership skills while having fun! Many of the SACSNA Board of Directors and all of the officers will be graduating this Spring, so that means there are many openings to fill. SACSNA can use great nursing students like YOU to fill these new positions. SACSNA can then continue as a wonderful organization that supports the SAC nursing students. Also, perspective employers look for leadership skills in their employees, so it's a win-win situation and opportunity. Please contact Megan Crum if you are interested at megs686@hotmail.com Elections will be held at the April SACSNA meeting on Thursday, April 15th, so you will need to e-mail Megan NO LATER than April 2nd with your interest in becoming a SACSNA officer. BOD members are not elected (only officer positions are), and everyone is welcome to be a BOD member who is interested. Below are the requirements and job descriptions for SACSNA BOD members and the officer positions, per the SACSNA bylaws. A. The SACSNA Board of Director member must be national/state member. Article V – BOARD OF DIRECTORS Section 1. Composition A. The Board of Directors will consist of: President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer, Communications, Community Health, and Break Through to Nursing (BTN). Section 2. Responsibilities A. The Board of Directors shall be responsible for: 1. Transacting business of the association between membership meeting and shall report such transactions at the next regularly scheduled membership meeting. 2. Reviewing monetary disbursements, acquisitions and fund raising activities and shall be responsible for procuring persons for audit of all accounts on an annual basis. 3. All SACSNA Board of Directors are responsible for participating/attending a minimum of 75% of all SACSNA activities. 4. If a Board of Director member can not fulfill their official duties, they must submit an official letter of resignation. In case of resignation, nomination/delegation for the resigned position will occur at the next regularly scheduled meeting. Section 3. Quorum A. President 1. Shall preside at all meeting of the association, appoint special committees as needed, perform all other duties pertaining to the office and represent this association in all matters. 2. Shall serve as chairperson of the Board of Directors. B. Vice President 1. Shall assume responsibility of the office of President in the event of a vacancy occurring in the office until the next regular election. 2. Shall preside at meetings in the absence of the President. 3. Shall assist the President as delegated. 4. Assist Communications Director with publicity outlets. C. Secretary/Treasurer 1. Shall record and distribute the minutes of all meetings of this association as directed by the President. 2. Shall keep on file as a permanent record all reports, papers and documents submitted to the secretary. 3. Deliver to the newly elected Secretary/Treasurer all association papers. 4. Submit financial reports to the membership as directed by President. 5. Remit payment for approved debits according to the following: a) Disbursement of Funds in conjunction with faculty advisor(s). 1. Requests for disbursement of funds shall be made in writing to the Board of Director. The Board of Directors may approve disbursements of funds per request. 2. No funds will be disbursed without prior approval. 3. Coordinate all treasurer activities with the faculty advisors 4. Perform annual audit of financial records. D. Communications 1. Prepare and distribute flyers for meetings and all SACSNA activities. 2. Maintain website. 3. Coordinate with faculty advisors for review of materials prior to distribution and for additional resources. E. Community Health 1. Coordinate community health events F. Break Though to Nursing (BTN) 1. Initiate and coordinate SACSNA activities related to increasing diversity of the nursing student population. 2. Coordinate with the Nursing Public Relations/Advisory Committee for outreach programs. Article VI – ELECTIONS Section 1. Election of Board of Directors A. Elections shall be held during a SACSNA monthly meeting. B. All elections shall be by secret ballot. C.
